EEA Excellence in Energy Saving Award Pneumatic Group Product Features:
The TPD is a reciprocating seal used in pneumatic cylinder pistons. In this design update, without affecting the customer’s workpieces, the conventional figure-8 seal has been replaced with a new design that reduces the contact area. In addition, the material has been changed from commonly used rubber to TPU, extending the seal’s service life and lowering the starting pressure. TPU is also a recyclable thermoplastic material, aligning with future environmental sustainability trends. Details are as follows:
Improved wear resistance: PU materials offer significantly better wear resistance compared to NBR, greatly extending the product’s lifespan.
Reduced coefficient of friction: According to the material manufacturer’s data, the average coefficient of friction for NBR compounds ranges from approximately 0.9 to 1.4, while the TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) we use has a coefficient of friction of about 0.2 to 0.8. This means that TPU can substantially reduce frictional resistance.
By combining the new design with PU material, this seal’s low-interference characteristics enable pneumatic cylinders to operate at lower starting pressures and overall pressures. This not only improves cylinder actuation speed but also delivers excellent energy-saving performance..
